This year, B2 Kapital once again supported the great Terry Fox Run charity event, which took place on September 23 in Zagreb’s Jarun. The many runners, cyclists, rollerskaters and walkers of goodwill were joined by B2 Kapital’s running team. The company’s employees used the opportunity to raise funds to make a difference in the fight against cancer. The money raised for the event was donated to the Ruđer Bošković Institute to help fund further research of this malignant disease.
Terry Fox, Canada’s humanitarian, athlete and cancer research advocate, became known back in 1980, when he began the Marathon of Hope, a cross-country run to raise money for cancer research, which he ran for 143 days with a prosthetic leg. He never completed the run as he died from cancer aged 22. To commemorate Terry, each year in September countries around the world organize the Terry Fox Run, the largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research.
