With its team of 49 employees, B2 Kapital participated in this year’s Terry Fox Run race, which took place on the 24th of September 2017, in Zagreb, Jarun, with the aim of raising money to fight cancer. B2 Kapital donated funds to the Joint research center “Sveti Juraj” from Zagreb for the research of hereditary breast cancer conducted by the Ruđer Bošković Institute.
The humanitarian race Terry Fox Run is held every year in countries around the world in remembrance of Terry Fox who, when diagnosed with cancer, lost his leg. To collect money for treatment, in 1980, he went on a race through Canada called “The marathon of hope”. He ran 143 days for 42 kilometers per day but failed to finish the race because the disease returned and claimed his life at the young age of 22. The race has been held in Croatia for 16 years, during which more than 5 million HRK has been collected for cancer research.
